<div id="subtitle">Poultry group says US Sen. Cardin's Chesapeake Bay bill threatens industry</div><div><p>A poultry group says Maryland Sen. Ben Cardin's Chesapeake Bay restoration bill threatens the industry, a claim disputed by the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.</p><p>Delmarva Poultry Industry, which represents poultry farmers, processors and employees, says the bill would put Delmarva poultry farmers at a disadvantage because they would face more regulation than the rest of the country. The group supports a reauthorization of the current bay program.</p><p>Doug Siglin of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation accuses Delmarva Poultry of making false and misleading claims about the bill.
