Power outage at Boston airport delays flights

<div id="subtitle">Flights delayed, canceled after brief power outage at Boston's Logan International Airport</div><div><p>A brief power outage at Boston's Logan International Airport has caused flight delays and some cancellations.</p><p>Massport spokesman Phil Orlandella says the outage was reported at 9:10 a.m. Friday. He says the problem was traced to NStar, the power company that serves the airport.</p><p>Orlandella says power started to return about eight minutes later, but it took about two hours before operations were back to normal.</p><p>Outbound flight delays averaged about one hour. Orlandella did not know how many flights had to be canceled.</p><p>Inbound flights were not delayed, but planes could not taxi all the way to the gates, so passengers had to walk or be bused to the terminals.</p><p>The outage temporarily required baggage to be checked by hand at security checkpoints.</p><img src="http://admatch-syndication.mochila.com/images/ad.gif?aid=61261137&bid=informcom" /></div><div id="copyright"><div>
